History

In 2010, the Saint-Tropez offshore race was created by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez on a course originally over 900 nautical miles.
Renamed in 2017, 2018 and 2020 “Au large de Saint-Tropez”, this event was open to crews, then to solo sailors since 2015 and to double-handed crews since 2016 with a choice of 400 or 600 nautical mile courses.

In 2023, PAPREC becomes the title partner of this beautiful offshore race offering a unique 600 nautical mile course in the Mediterranean. The event is thus renamed “Paprec 600 Saint-Tropez”.

The Paprec 600 Saint Tropez race is open to IRC-rated yachts, crewed or double-handed, and will start in front of the town of Saint-Tropez.
Classes expected: IRC with minimum TTC 0.940, Multihulls, Class40, Figaro, SunFast 30 OD, etc.

WHO WILL BEAT THE REAL TIME RECORD for the race? Currently held by :
CENTRAKOR: Mikael Mergui & Richard Robini in 3 days 14 hours and 11 minutes 49 seconds

As every year, after a thorough check of the files and safety equipment of the competing boats, Race Director Georges Korhel will call a meeting of the skippers before the start of the race.

Renowned by all, this event offers a breathtaking course with surprising weather conditions… Enough to attract all ocean racing enthusiasts! It’s a sporting event, and excellent training for professionals and amateurs of Transatlantic racing, with a view to other major events such as the Vendée Globe, the Transquadra, the Figaro, the Route du Rhum, the Transat Jacques Vabre, etc. This event also counts towards the Mediterranean Offshore IRC Championship.
