Over 30 years ago, the Trophée Pourchet was set up as a parallel event, not like any other, but as Robert Pourchet, a member of the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez and a leatherworker by trade, had wished. It was a weekend event limited to 30 invited boats. It all started with a family paella on Saturday lunchtime, before a trip to the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. A second round on Sunday, this time without any preliminary agape, made it possible to establish a two-day ranking. A convivial, family-friendly prize-giving ceremony brought the event to a close. Each participant, winner or not, went home with a souvenir prize. Every year since then, mid-August has been the occasion for a convivial family celebration. Since 2020, thanks to the participation of Robert Pourchet’s children and grandchildren (V.S.C. company), the event has continued with two days of racing, a festive meal and the prize-giving ceremony.
