The Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, with the support of the “Smeralda 888” Association, will be organizing the 19th edition of the Coupe de l’Hippocampe in 2026 (2020 and 2021 have been cancelled).
Created in 2006, the event is reserved, by invitation, for Monaco-based “Smeralda 888” yachts (approx. 9m).
The participation of top sailing competitors means that the regattas are not short of spice and take place over three days in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
Between 9 and 11 Smeralda 888 in the running
Four to five crew are required aboard this 8.88 m x 2.50 m “racy” sailboat.
Among the participants were Charles de Bourbon des deux Siciles’ famous “Vamos mi amor”, Adalberto Miani’s “Botta Dritta”, Achille Onorato’s “Mascalzone Latino”, Ian Ilsey’s “Bear Essential”, as well as “Ange Transparent”, “Beda”, “Black Star”, “Extravaganza”, “Kzi Modo” and more.
Smeralda 888 races are held on the waters of Monaco, Porto Cervo, Elba and Saint-Tropez.
