Setting sail from Saint-Tropez on May 17, 2026, seven boats from the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez* retraced Guy de Maupassant’s route on his sailboat “Bel Ami” 140 years ago! A journey from Monaco to Saint Tropez via the Lerins islands and the Esterel coast during the lovely month of May – The story of this voyage is told in his 1888 book “sur l’eau” (and in the article published in the SNST 2026 annual magazine).
SNST members were warmly welcomed at the Monaco Yacht Club on May 18, 2026 for their first stopover before continuing on to Saint-Tropez.
On Wednesday May 27, to round off this magnificent voyage in style, the members of the Croisière welcomed two classes of 4th graders from the Moulin Blanc secondary school. as part of their school program (study of the works of Guy de Maupassant). The program included a visit to sailboats owned by club members, a presentation on the basics of sailing and educational workshops, including a seamanship workshop.
