L’Oréal Groupe, a partner in the image of this women’s event
It’s one of the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez’s flagship events, featuring women at the helm and aboard some of the finest traditional sailing yachts in the Mediterranean! Committed to women in competitive sailing since 1995, L’Oréal Groupe has naturally become the partner of this sporting event full of charm and elegance: Les Dames de Saint-Tropez.
L’Oréal Groupe, a major supporter of the women’s team that took part in the very first Women’s America’s Cup in 2024, and also of the French Sail GP team, is thus joining forces with the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, itself the challenger Club for the French America’s Cup team in 2027 after 2024. A shared commitment to sailing, women sailors, the sea and the sustainable economy.
Women sailors involved, including Alexia Barrier, who has remained loyal to the event
The 13th edition of the Dames de Saint-Tropez, an invitational event, will take place over three days of racing from May 8 to 10, 2026 in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
A fine line-up of classic sailboats invited by the organizers, with mostly women sailors from a wide range of backgrounds and nationalities on board.
The event has already welcomed a number of female sailors, including Catherine Chabaud, Aloise Retornaz, Marie Tabarly…
And let’s not forget Alexia Barrier, who returns to take part in the Dames de Saint-Tropez this year aboard the pretty and sporty 6mJI One Wave.
After completing the Vendée Globe and the Jules Vernes Trophy, Alexia made sporting history this year by becoming the first 100% female crew to complete this non-stop round-the-world race, with a women’s reference time of 57 days, 21 hours and 20 minutes!
On land, spectators can admire the boats and meet the sailors in the Port of Saint-Tropez. The festive program will bring the participants together in a convivial atmosphere before the prize-giving ceremony on Sunday May 10, 2026.
A remarkable line-up to delight the eyes
In the mythical old port of Saint-Tropez and on the starting line of the regattas, we will find the regulars of this event; MARIA GIOVANNA from 1969, the most faithful (it will be her 12th participation) and several times winner of the Ladies or the faithful and formidable crews like the doyen of the fleet: LULU from 1897 or RATAFIA from 1962 .
Also among the favourites are the 1929 ketch BELLE AVENTURE, the 1965 yawl HERMITAGE, the 1913 8MT aurique NIN, the 1950 6mJI ONE WAVE, the 1935 cutter IRENE VIII, THEA, a 1918 21m sloop, SERENADE of 1938, ANDALE of 1951 and BRISEIS of 1931.
Newcomers to the race will add even more spice and color to the event: Bermuda sloops JOSEPHINE from 1959, MOONSPRAY from 1962, RHEA from 1940, ROY D’YS from 1965, SUZETTE from 1930.
Note that this regatta is part of the AFYT (Association Française des Yachts de Tradition) calendar.
Under the supervision of a women’s race committee led by Alice Coquant, the competitors will be sailing in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez on Friday May 8, Saturday May 9 and Sunday May 10, weather conditions permitting.
