MAJOLAN winner of the 45\u00e8me<\/sup>\u00a0FESTIVAL ARMEN 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The 45th edition of the ARMEN Festival ended on a high note this Sunday, March 5, 2023 for the 44 competing crews with a good breeze and a great spring sun!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Despite the cancellation of the Saint-Tropez – Le Lavandou round trip race, replaced by a beautiful race in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez on Sunday 26 February, the Armen Festival benefited from exceptional conditions for the Skiing event in Isola 2000 and the second weekend of racing in Saint-Tropez! In addition to the various events (art, skiing, sailing), the sailors were able to attend an evening presentation by St\u00e9phane Kandler of the French challenge for the America’s Cup 2024 and of the “OrientExpressTeam”, of which the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Nautique de Saint-Tropez (SNST) is the support club!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Christian Le Floch’s MAJOLAN from SNST wins the grand slam of the ARMEN 2023 Festival (combined general ranking Art-Ski-Voile) ahead of Bastien de Brouwer’s XANTUS and Guy Curnillon’s CACHOU as well as the Hermann Trophy (Ski-Voile) and the all classes sailing ranking. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0OVERDOSE by Sylvain Bretagne of SNST is the winner of the Ren\u00e9 Perrier challenge (Art Voile).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In the ski competition, L’AUTRE FEMME finished first. In the art competition, the modern work of the OVERDOSE team on the theme “Make the poster of the Armen 2024 Festival” won over the jury unanimously.<\/p>\n\n

At the award ceremony,<\/strong>\u00a0In the presence of Xavier Perrier, Ren\u00e9 Perrier’s grandson, Michel Perrault, deputy for culture and heritage of the city of Saint-Tropez, paid a tribute to Mr Perrier, who was at the origin of this beautiful event. Mr Perrault revealed to the public his attachment to this Festival from the very beginning alongside his wife. <\/p>\n\n

Before the results were announced by the race director, Georges Korhel, the vice-president of the SNST, Thibaut Garnotel, thanked all the competitors who had come in great numbers, the Port of Saint-Tropez, the annual partners of the SNST, including the Galeries Bartoux and De Colombe immobilier, which offered a stay at Isola 2000 to the winner of the Hermann Trophy. And for this event, the Campaux and La Rouilli\u00e8re estates for the wine offered during the superb and lively evening of the crews at the Bouillabaisse and the prize-giving ceremony! And let’s not forget C\u00e9cile de Kock, who is always so committed to the artistic side of the Festival! <\/p>\n\n

The competitors applauded the organisation, all the volunteers at sea and on land, including the race committee, and in particular the anchors who had a hard time with the course changes! <\/p>\n\n

A superb edition that was unanimously acclaimed! <\/p>\n\n

In the Sailing ranking, after five very competitive races:<\/strong>\u00a0Olivier Bouquet’s CHIHUAHUA from CN de la Napoule takes the lead in the IRC3 group ahead of Adrien Follin’s GIVE ME FIVE and Gian Marco Magrini’s VITO 3. <\/p>\n\n

In IRC4, Guy Claeys’ EXPRESSO won ahead of Marc Pons’ MACAYA and Christelle Renaud’s TEAM CAPTAIN NASON S.<\/p>\n\n

In the Osiris groups, Christian Le Floch’s MAJOLAN from SNST came first in the OSP group ahead of Sylvain Bretagne’s OVERDOSE from SNST and Lionel Michon’s L’AUTRE FEMME.<\/p>\n\n

In the OSG group, ROCK N ROLL by Didier Fran\u00e7ois from the Club de la Napoule won in front of MIKALA by Serge Ehrhardt and CACHOU by Guy Curnillon from the SNST.<\/p>\n\n

The crew of Thibaut Garnotel’s SENSATION from SNST took first place ahead of Xavier Ducasse’s MIMITEAM and Alberto Musso’s JARO 7.<\/p>\n\n
